GREATER RETURN ON WOMEN'S ENTERPRISE

The Women’s Enterprise Task Force (WETF), which was set up by Gordon Brown to increase the quantity, scalability and success of UK women’s enterprise, is now coming to the end of its remit.  The WETF has therefore produced its final Report and Recommendations, Greater Return On Women’s Enterprise (GROWE).

Women's enterprise can create jobs, wealth, and GVA, and can save the public purse by reducing the rising costs of recession and unemployment – but only with the right support.

We are delighted that Lord Davies of Abersoch CBE, Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Small Business was able to join us to speak about how the Government is committed to supporting women’s enterprise beyond the end of the WETF.  We are also very excited that entrepreneur Alyson Warhurst of Maplecroft joined us to speak about what it takes to be a successful business owner.

To mark the end of the Task Force and to celebrate women’s enterprise, WETF co-Chairs Pam Alexander and Glenda Stone set out the Task Force’s achievements in the past – and also how the GROWE Recommendations will be taken forward by others in the future.
