Ambassadors

The Women’s Enterprise Ambassador Network, known as “Spark” was established in 2007 after being launched by the then Minister of State for Industry and the Regions, Margaret Hodge with a target of 1,000 ambassadors to be recruited within six months.

The initial target was reached and exceeded by the summer of 2007, thanks to a huge drive by the Regional Development Agency (RDA) network and Enterprise Insight, and the number of Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors continues to grow.  In the BERR Enterprise Strategy (March 2008), the Women’s Enterprise Ambassador Network was referenced as key to the proposed national women’s mentoring network.
